ChinaBound 2010 Press Release

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Portland Fashion Synergy Inc. (PDXFS) drives ChinaBound 2010 in its 2nd year of showcasing Portland designer fashion to a global audience.

Portland, OR – PDXFS, with support from the Portland Development Commission, Mayor’s Office, and Art Institute of Portland, is gearing up for a late March departure to China, for ChinaBound 2010. The final group to be departing on March 25, 1020 will include local designers, business owners, and brand representatives including RYZ, MAY TEE, O’Pearl, Center of Excellence and producer, Jillian Rabe. Complete group to be announced.

With an agenda including: education, business, and economic growth for Portland’s local and global fashion economy, PDXFS will be focusing on facilitating discussions and formalizing plans that started taking place last spring.

Kicking off in March of 2009, ChinaBound was the first of its kind for presenting multiple Portland designer lines to an overseas audience. With China’s expressed interest in exploring opportunities for future collaboration and exchange, Portland Fashion Synergy became a unified force in spearheading the development of such opportunities.

With an additional history of collaborative business development meetings, the Portland production of FUSE in fall 2009, and support from the city of Portland, PDXFS is getting ready to take the next steps in aiding the growth and development of Portland’s fashion climate.

In efforts to facilitate these developments, PDXFS will drive ChinaBound 2010 by again bringing with them pre-selected Portland designer lines to be showcased in an exclusive runway in ZhengZhou, Henan. Marked by efforts for revealing current season looks that best reflect high-end Portland design, garments will also be reviewed for a potential place in Chinese retail locations featuring Portland designer fashion. Further discussions are also scheduled regarding the creation of designer and student exchange programs.

Press conference to announce ChinaBound 2010’s full agenda and team will be followed by time allotted for questions and answers on March 2, 2010 at 11 am at the Art Institute of Portland.
Panel to include, Portland Fashion Synergy’s President: May Tee, PDXFS’ International Affairs Advisor: Kerry Yu, Ryz Founder: Rob Langstaff, and Department Director of the Fashion Program at the Art Institute of Portland: Sue Bonde.

PRESS CONFERENCE: Tuesday March 2, 2010; 11 am at the Art Institute of Portland (1122 NW Davis St.)
